  I would like to start with the good things about this business: the dental hygienists are spectacular, thorough, and kind. They are all wonderful people, and really liven the place. Likewise, the actual experience, the appearance of the exam rooms, and everything about the actual "guts" of the place are wonderful. Even the dentist-- not Dr. Day, but a different one-- was fantastic to work with. But that is all a mask for what seems, to me, like a scam operation. I went there after finally being able to afford dental insurance for the first time in my life, knowing I had a lot of work that needed to be done. Before anything, and I mean anything, was done, I requested that the secretary check to make sure it was covered by my insurance, or else I would wait until it would. She said yes, all of it was covered, excluding a small copay and the cost to make natural coated fillings. I had them check before I made the appointment as well as the day of the appointment, before I got in the chair. So what do I find a week later? They bill me more than $500. That was not the amount we agreed on. The copay plus extra would cost me around $100, which I paid day of exam. This number came out of no where, and when I called them, they said that it was not covered by my insurance. The same insurance they told me was covering it. So, given that I was poor, poor enough to have not seen a dentist in more than six years, I couldn't very well pay it. I told them I would try to settle, even though they were in the wrong; they declined. They wanted to put me on a payment plan with something like 20% interest, which would mean my $500 bill would clear $1200 by the time I paid it off. Once again, I am poor. I couldn't do that. I STILL can't do that. But no, they refused to work with me in any way, when it was their mistake. So now, more than TWO YEARS later, they are sending me statements for that balance. What little credit I had is destroyed. I still can't pay, and I still won't pay. I did nothing wrong, and this is THEIR responsibility for having a secretary that doesn't know how to do her job. I would have waited a month, six months, a year, or whatever if they had told me that I needed to wait for insurance to cover it. But no, here I am, sitting with rock bottom credit, because this is a scam that exploits people. SO BE WARNED: If you want anything done here, only pay in cash upfront, and have a lawyer ready. The staff is great, and the experience was as good as I would expect for what I had done. If they decided to start a real, honest business, I would recommend them. But until they stop trying to wring blood from a stone, keep away. For your sake.
