  I tried to find help for a lump on my cat's belly at every vet in town before a friend recommended Kaibab Veterinary Clinic. When I met Dr. Penrod, I knew I had found a "cat person." She was beyond friendly, knowledgable, and extremely patient when I asked 8 billion questions. I was so impressed that I brought my other cat to Dr. Penrod as well. Three years later, we brought a Catahoula into the family, and he was a charmer during his first check-up with her, but after an ankle sprain, he developed a fear of vet offices (I had to take him elsewhere for that one), and needed to be muzzled during our last visit--and Dr. Penrod was still as patient and calm as ever! I recently moved out of state, and my only wish would've been to bring that wonderful woman with me. Instead, I recommend anyone looking for friendly, comprehensive pet care see Dr. Penrod.

  This is a review for Carly Bennett and the staff working on September 7, 2017 at approximately 4:00pm. I have full documentation for all of this. I just took my six month old puppy to the clinic for excessive vomiting. She had gotten so sick that she was becoming catatonic. I wanted to make sure her tummy was ok and to see if she needed intravenous fluids or something. After an exam, the vet asked me a few questions about her symptoms. She asked if the puppy had nasal discharge; she didn't. She asked if the puppy had a cough; she didn't. She had only begun vomiting about an hour before. After we settled that my puppy had NO symptoms of Distemper, the vet concluded that my puppy had Distemper. She gave me the option of admitting the puppy overnight for about $650, to which she added that there was probably no way to save the puppy, OR EUTHANIZING HER!!! The vet said that the puppy was catatonic because the Distemper was neurological. Ever see a human after they've been very sick? Me too. They get dehydrated and lose electrolytes, and, guess what...they become catatonic. I got my puppy out of Kaibab Veterinary Clinic as soon as possible (after paying $50 For the bogus "exam"). I went to Whole Foods and bought her some coconut water, then to REI where I bought oral rehydration salts. After administering both of these items, the puppy was back to normal. I saved my puppy's life for $11; Kaibab Veterinary Clinic wanted $650 or to kill her....because she was dehydrated. The vet asked me to call and follow up to let them know how it turned out when I rushed my puppy out. I called them and told them what happened and how horrified I was that they wanted to potentially euthanize my dog. They simply said "sorry you had a bad experience." They did not care about my little dog, and I will NEVER take my pets near that place again!!!
